About BHS

Amanda Silkett

  • Before coming to Bullard High School, I had the privilege of serving students in Georgetown ISD, Killeen ISD, Salado ISD and Florence ISD. I started my career nearly twenty years ago as a special education aide, while completing my bachelor's degree at Tarleton State University - Central Texas, then becoming a special education teacher. After completing my Master's Degree in Education Administration, also at Tarleton State University - Central Texas, I began my career as a middle school administrator. I was employed with Killeen ISD were I served as both an assistant principal and principal at the middle school level for 7 years. The last year and a half I served as an assistant principal at Georgetown High School which provided me with the opportunity to develop a new passion and commitment to high school students.

I believe in servant leadership so it is important to me that students, parents, teachers, and community members know that they are always welcome to reach out to me. I am passionate about educating today's young people! This means being innovative in using resources, materials, and strategies with today's learners. We are charged with teaching today's children to think, problem solve and be creative. To that end, I am committed to working with teachers and students to refine and re-define teaching and learning at BHS.

My family is also very important to me. My husband Duane and I have been married 25 years. We have three children: Michael and his wife Kristina, Kara and Rebekah. We also have a granddaughter, Kaylee. If I am not at work, I am with my family. My family is always supportive and encouraging which allowed me to embrace the opportunity to be Bullard High School's principal.

I am very blessed to be here and look forward to developing many great relationships!

Donna Jeffus

  • When people ask what I do, I am proud to answer that I'm an educator; 2016 begins my twenty-fourth year in this field. After earning my bachelor's degree at Texas A&M, I began teaching ESL, English, and journalism in Whitehouse. Since then I have taught every level of English 7 - 12, Spanish, Speech, and ESL in three high schools. In addition, I have served as an academic advisor and an assistant principal. I love making things happen for kids on a small or large scale, and I look forward to continuing to do so. I live a full life with my husband and two sons who attend Bullard ISD.
