All BISD campuses, grades K-12, have a special program directed toward students identified as gifted and talented. During January every year, nominations for the identification of students who may be gifted are open. The nominations are for placement for the 2017-18 school year. Students may be nominated by any interested person, including teachers, counselors, and parents. Students who are nominated will only be accepted if they qualify as gifted/talented according to the BISD screening policy and the established criteria. Some of the criteria include intelligence quotient, achievement testing, and teacher inventories. If you would like to nominate your child, please use the attached form. It is due to the middle school counselor, Jessica Phillips, no later than February 3, 2017.
